Learn everything about the Pope Band from our Misson Statement to our Previous Shows!


The Pope Band is a rather large organization here with about 200 members. Many friendships come out of this organization last for many years. Some of the other activities this organization offers are: marching band, 3 concert bands (percussion class in the fall), brass band/brass ensemble, percussion ensemble, indoor drumline, steel drum ensemble, winterguard, at least one woodwind choir, and a wide variety of small ensembles.

Awards for the 2005-2006 season

This year has been a very successful season for the Pope Band! Here are our accomplishments so far this year:

Bands of America Regional Championships - Bowling Green, Kentucky

- Division II rating

- 4th place in Class AAA

- Regional Finalist

- 7th place in Finals

South Gwinnett Southern Star Marchnig Compeititon:

- Superior Drum Major, Percussion, Brass, Woodwinds, and Band.

- Excellent Colorguard

Bands of America Super Regional Championships - Atlanta, Georgia

- Division I rating

- 4th place in class AAA - prelims

- 7th in preliminary performance

- regional finalist

- 10th in finals

Our Mission Statement

A year ago, the Pope Band leadership team made up a mission statement that the whole band accepted to live by. We are very proud of what we came up with and we work hard everyday to live  and achieve it.

      ALAN C. POPE BAND MISSION STATEMENT

     We, the proud members of the Alan C. Pope High School Band, through trust, respect, and encouragement, will create a safe and positive learning environment for each member. As a unified group, we are dedicated to constant improvement in setting higher standards to continue our Persuit of Performance Excellence. We will develop skills and long-lasting relationships that will carry on the tradition for generations to come.
